Michelle Falcon Mujica
President
Michelle Falcon Mujica is pursuing an Electrical Engineering degree with an emphasis in renewable energy with a minor in math. After finishing her bachelor's degree she wishes to pursue a masters degree. She hopes to one day live in a world where everyone can have access to clean energy and clean water in their everyday lives. Her interests include learning languages, traveling, reading, watching movies, and playing music.

H. Darlene Merrill II
Vice President
Darlene Merrill is a junior pursuing a degree chemical engineering, and minors in math. She is from Washington State and would like to pursue a career in Industrial Chemistry or contribute in research for 3-D printing organs. Darlene has interned for the USDA doing agriculture field research and is currently working as an intern at Aquametals. She loves to play sports, and is also the captain of the ChemE Car in AIChE. Darlene loves reading, swimming, skiing, and the occasional basketball game.

Rachel Backlund
Secretary
Rachel Backlund is a senior studying Electrical Engineering with a
Biomedical emphasis and a Math minor. She hopes to one day work
with Diabetes care technologies to improve the lives of many Type 1
Diabetics like her. Rachel is an avid archer, and has started competing
regionally, and soon nationally, for the University of Nevada. She is also
involved on campus with the UNRchers club, IEEE, and Theta Tau, the
professional co-ed engineering fraternity. In her free time, she enjoys
spending time outdoors, hiking, and photography.

Kei Cheng is a senior pursuing a degree in environmental engineering. She is from Las Vegas and would like to pursue a career in water resources or renewable energy. Kei is passion about international water issues. She went to Panama last summer and helped a village to build a water filter. She enjoys reading, swimming, and traveling.

Amberly Wang is a senior pursuing a Bachelor’s in Computer Science & Engineering and a minor in Statistics. Her professional interests include artificial intelligence, human-computer interaction, and data science. She enjoys exploring the intersection of software and psychology and understanding human-machine interactions to develop products that are intuitive, elegant, and beneficial for society. Her other interests include music & composition, video games, art, cooking, and exploring nature.

After graduating, she hopes to work in either the manufacturing or biomedical industry, and, eventually, teach at the collegiate level. Outside of school and work, Nikki's interests include reading, watching TV shows, writing and playing music, and hanging out with her cat.

I am interested in working in the fields of communication, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. I am a transfer student from Lake Tahoe Community College and a first semester junior planning to graduate in 2021. I joined SWE to help support women engagement in STEM fields. I am passionate about science and the advancement of technologies. This is my second semester at UNR and I am very excited for the year ahead. Good luck to all in their studies!

Sima is pursuing a PHD degree in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis in renewable energies. She is a research assistant in Electric Drives Laboratory. Sima is also the interim chair of the IEEE Industrial Applications Society student branch chapter at University of Nevada, Reno. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, reading, swimming, and watching movies.

I am currently a 4th year studying Biomedical Engineering, I originally started school at WNC and earned my Associate's of Science Degree. I enjoy archery, watching Netflix, and (since I was a daycare teacher) learning about early childhood education on my free time. I am currently taking online classes to get my ECE certificate! After I graduate from UNR, I either want to go to medical school to become a pediatric surgeon, or get my masters in BME and work on projects pertaining to pediatrics.
